Making the Call on Substack

After a year of podcasting, we are adding written content to Making the Call's sports coverage.

For the past year we have been hosting weekly podcasts discussing all the main stories in sports, with a focus on DFW teams, NFL, and Fantasy Football. Now, in 2023, we are taking the same commitment to unique sports coverage and including written content.

With the new Making the Call Substack, we will be able to dive deeper on the teams and topics we follow so intently, while still continuing the same great content we provide on the weekly podcasts.

What to expect on the Making the Call Substack in 2023

• Monthly articles about each of the four Dallas sports teams (Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, and Rangers).

  • Each week you will get a new article about one of the four Dallas teams, with each team being discussed on a monthly basis. For example, the month of January will go like this:

    • January 6th: Andrew will be writing about the current state of the Dallas Mavericks

    • January 13th: Austin will be writing about the Dallas Cowboys before the first round of the NFL Playoffs

    • January 20th: Trent will be writing about the Western Conference leading Dallas Stars

    • January 27th: Andrew will be writing about the Texas Rangers, right before Pitchers and Catchers report to Spring Training

  • A similar schedule will continue each month, with you getting a new article every Friday, and each Dallas team getting discussed on a monthly basis.

• Rozey’s Fantasy Rankings and Rookie Draft Big Board

  • If you’ve listened to any episode of Making the Call with Rozey on it, you know how great Rozey’s fantasy coverage is. With our new Substack, we will be posting Rozey’s Fantasy Rankings, as well as his Rookie Draft Big Board as we get closer to April. If you’ve enjoyed Rozey’s fantasy coverage on the podcast, you’re going to love what we have in store for the Substack.

• More personal engagement for our audience.

  • Substack has awesome tools for building out a great community with audience members, and we plan to take full advantage of those. We will be able to use Substack to engage in listener Q&A’s, discussion around Rozey’s weekly fantasy question, and much more.
